Starting this blog was a split second decision. I’ve never been the best writer, but I had always thought blogging about something I was passionate about would be fun. I never actually acted on the thought, but then someone I really looked up to decided to try their hand at it and I decided it was time. Not to mention my friends have been secretly throttling me in their thoughts whenever I open my mouth to spout another fact about cars!
I didn’t start getting into cars until I was about 15. In fact, I never thought I would even think about cars until I started driving one! I mean, I got behind the wheel, and my brain immediately decided that this was something I was going to be hooked on. It was love at first drive. At first I just thought they were cool. I’d watch cars on the street pass by and wonder what they were like to own. I started to notice different types; body styles, sizes, colors, etc. I eventually became more and more infatuated with engines, features, fuel economy, drivetrains, and quirky features that make the car different from the others.
Most people think of cars as a means to an end, but there is so much more to it. On average American drivers spend at least an hour behind the wheel every day. And car makers know that! They spend so much time, thought and effort into making and designing a car that will help you be safe, comfortable, and happy. Everyone has a different idea of what their ‘perfect’ car is and luckily there are hundreds, maybe even thousands of different cars out there that are just waiting to be taken for a test drive.
But first you have to know about cars. And that’s what this is! A guide, blog, story, idiots manual, or whatever else there is, to cars! Something to help you understand the things that you don’t want to spend time researching.
